Manaslu
With ten 'eight-thousanders' in a pocket, the dream of the 14 was ever closer and Pasabán went for her eleventh peak in October 2008. A mountain characterised by its bad weather, Manaslu followed its tradition and received the Al filo expedition with intense cold and strong winds. The mountaineer finally trod the summit on 5 October along with Alex Chicón, Asier Izaguirre, Mikel Zabalza, Ester Sabadel, Ferrán Latorre and Juanjo Garra.

Manaslu (मनास्लु also known as Kutang) is the eighth highest mountain in the world and is in the Himalayan range in Nepal. The name of Manaslu comes from the word ‘manas’, which in Sanskrit language means 'mind'.

The first ascent of Manaslu was achieved on 9 May 1956 by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu taking part in a Japanese expedition.

Manaslu is characterised by its bad weather, and the risk is higher than on other mountains. The statistics of the people who die there are much higher than those of Everest, where of roughly every eight alpinists reaching the summit, one has died, whereas on Manaslu the figure is three to one.
